Go see this movie. I saw it today as part of those screening that people never get invited to, or when you do its always for the crap movies. I lucked out and get some tickets to this one. After almost getting into a fist fight with the people working there, I finally got into the theater all by my lonesome self. I made friends with the people around me, because I’m always on edge when I’m sitting by strangers and don’t talk to them. As I was talking to the my new friends the rsvp’s of the theater walked in and who walks in? the director gore verbinski of course. i was creeping on his wiki page today so thats the only reason i knew. and guess who else? no dont guess. hans freaking zimmer. freaking is not his middle name. just hanz zimmer. ya crazy huh? so i was freaking out and decided i was gonna talk to the director after. the movie started and it was INCREDIBLE! not the kids movie you would think it was going to be. very action packed, and not animated action, like real action, blowing crap up and people getting shot. pretty awesome. and it wasnt the run of the mill animated movie either. it kind of played off the whole animated standard procedure thing. of course you feel bad for rango with 20 minutes left in the movie, and i have yet to see an animated movie where this doesnt happen, but we cant always get what we want right? the ducks are still having a horrible season so thats proof to it. but after the movie i quickly filled out the survey they gave me hoping i could talk to the director but he left! so i ran out without hope of finding him, and there he was right outside the door. so i geared up, stuck my hand out and said “mr. verbinski i am a big fan. you did an amazing job with this movie and i love all the pirates movies.” he looked at me funny and said “oh…um…thanks? whats your name?” i responded and said “its jameson. i loved the movie, i love everything you do. im really looking forward to seeing what you do with the bioshock movie.” i was hoping he would tell me something about it but he gave me a weird look like you actually know im doing that movie look and said “oh ya…thanks.” and then i walked away. pretty proud of myself. i was gonna do the same with hans zimmer but he was getting his smoke break on when i saw him again. but anyways go see rango. its awesome. the animation is unlike anything i have ever seen, and rattlesnake jake is bomb. march 4th everyone.
